The Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has recently issued a notification for the Combined Graduate Level (CGL) Examination 2023. Those who are interested in the SSC CGL 2023 recruitment and meet the eligibility requirements can apply online from 01 April 2023 to 01 May 2023. SSC CGL Recruitment 2023: Application Fees
- General/OBC/EWS candidates: Rs. 100/-
- SC/ST/PH candidates: Nil (no fee)
- Female candidates of all categories: Nil (exempted)
Correction Fees:
- First Time: Rs. 200/-
- Second Time: Rs. 500/-
The examination fee can be paid through Debit Card, Credit Card, Net Banking or Offline E Challan fee mode, and can be submitted at any branch of the State Bank of India (SBI) located in India.
SSC CGL Recruitment 2023: Eligibility Criteria
Age Limit
- Minimum age required: 18 years
- Maximum age limit: 27-32 years (post-wise)
- Age relaxation is available for candidates belonging to reserved categories as per the SSC CGL Graduate Level Exam 2023 Recruitment Rules.

SSC CGL Recruitment 2023: Selection Process
The SSC CGL selection process underwent revision in 2022, reducing the number of tiers to 2. It is expected that the 2023 recruitment process will also be conducted in 2 tiers of computer-based examination, confirmation of which will be available with the official notification. To be eligible for Tier 2, candidates must clear Tier 1. The selection process as per the revised pattern includes online application, Tier-I and Tier-II examinations, document verification, and preparation of a final merit list based on performance in both tiers.
SSC CGL Selection Process 2023 Tier I
SSC CGL Tier 1 is a computer-based exam that aspirants must qualify to move to the next stage.To qualify for Tier 2, candidates must score equal to or more than the prescribed SSC CGL Cut Off.
- The Tier 1 exam comprises four sections, including Reasoning, General Awareness, Quantitative Aptitude, and English Language.
- The exam includes objective-type multiple-choice questions, except for the English section.
- Each section has 25 questions carrying two marks each, making up a total of 50 marks per section.
- The Tier 1 exam lasts for one hour, while scribe-eligible candidates have one hour and 20 minutes to complete it.
- For each wrong answer, there will be a negative marking of 0.50.
- The minimum qualifying mark for the Tier 1 exam is 30% for candidates belonging to the UR category.
SSC CGL Selection Process 2023 Tier II
The SSC CGL Tier 2 stage is crucial in the selection process and the marks scored in this stage are taken into consideration for shortlisting aspirants in the final merit list.
- The Tier 2 stage includes Paper 1, Paper 2, and Paper 3, each with multiple shifts/sessions per day.
- Paper 1 is compulsory for every post, while Paper 2 is for candidates who applied for the posts of Junior Statistical Officer, and Paper 3 is for candidates shortlisted in Tier 1 for the posts of Assistant Audit Officer/Assistant Accounts Officer.
- All three papers in Tier 2 consist of Objective Type MCQs, except for Module II of Section III in Paper 1.
- Except for the English Language and Comprehension module in Section II of Paper 1, all questions will be in both English and Hindi.
- Candidates will be deducted 1 mark for each wrong answer in Section-I, Section II, and Module-I of Section III of Paper 1.
- Every wrong answer in Paper 2 and Paper 3 will get a deduction of 0.50 marks.
- Module-I of Section-III of Paper 1, which is the Computer Knowledge Test, is mandatory but qualifying in nature.
- Module II of Section III of Paper 1 includes a Data Entry Speed Test (DEST) in Session II, which is qualifying in nature and mandatory for all SSC CGL posts.
- The DEST/Skill Test will be of 2,000 (Two Thousand) Key Depressions for 15 minutes on a computer.
Guidelines to Apply Online for SSC CGL
- Visit the official website of SSC and go to the "Apply" section.
- Click on "SSC CGL" and then on "Apply Now".
- Fill in the required details like personal information, academic qualifications, and contact details.
- Upload the scanned copies of your photograph, signature, and other documents as per the prescribed format and size.
- Pay the application fee through online mode or offline mode.
- Review your application form and submit it.
- Take a printout of the application form for future reference.
